Caroline.L.Masefield Johan Masefield is an English poet and writer. Masefield was born 1st june in Ledbury 1878 in Herefordshire. His mother Caroline.L.Masefield CLM died giving birth to his sister when Masefield was six years. The poem begins by explaining how mother gave him life and died and it continuously explain how he expresses grief, for his mother and cannot see him grown-up and cannot see how his son has lived his life. He says that even if death could be undone and his mother be reincarnated, it would be of no use because they would not recognise each other. He then thinks about all the sufferings, mother undeeago while bearing a child and when in labour.
